Whitsunday Islands

Airlie Beach

Welcome in the party town Airlie Beach, full of partying backpackers with mostly the same destination, party´s and sailing the Whitsunday Island Group.
Over 70 small islands, once a mountain group, stick out of the water. Surrounded by amazing beaches and evergreen woods on the islands, we sailed for 2 days in between them.

Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands

Getting there was a crazy trip, too many backpackers on a too small catamaran with too much alcohol and too little responsibility of the drunken captains. We slept on the deck under the stars ( while the other people cleaned up the wine from the floor with there tongue + other silly drinking games, our captains jumped naked around and people nearly got overboard… ) no wonder the next day everybody was missing something

But it was worth it as we reached one of the beautiful beaches ever.. the Whitehaven Beach with pure white sand and blue water.

It was not the right time for a bath, the little stinger bastards were present. So we had to wear very sexy overall to jump in the water. So we did this in a few bays and snorkelled with some Potato Cods, a huuuge Maouri Wrasse ( 2 m !! ) and big bat fishes, enjoyed the sun and sailed, sailed, sailed.
