Time traveling in Chichen Itza + Coba, Mexico

The Maya Civilization is considered to be the greatest between the 3 biggest and the world still develops new theories why the Maya World suddenly collapsed ( maybe overpopulation, war between city states or revolutions )

Chichen Itza was overtaken by the Toltec, so the side has both architecture in it. 200.000 people once were living here and busy with hunting, sacrificing to the gods and playing the famous Maya Ball Game. The leader of the winning team gets decapitated by the other team leader.

The Pyramids represent the calender very exactly. It feels impressive to walk through the city (between hundrets of others ). I really wish i could do a time traveling to see how they lived. Otherwise just watch the movie "Apocalytico" which represents the Maya time in their end.

On the way back we stopped in a nearby Cenote which was wonderfull and very refreshing.

COBA

Another Maya City, but right in between jungle and u can actually climb one of the pyramids to 42 m in high.
