One of my main reasons to come to this little place was to dive with the biggest fish of the earth, the whaleshark. I convinced the guys to come with me and they are also very interested in it so we booked a tour for the next day. The Ningaloo Reef is a smaller Great Barrier Reef with less tourist but right in front of the beach. It has so many sea creatures to offer, such as dolphins, whalesharks, manta ray´s , humpback whales , dugongs and sharks. We went snorkelling in the blue water and saw some big fishes, a black tipped shark and an octopus that sprinkled ink while Antony was chasing him.
We camped somewhere outside on a lonely place directly on the ocean, between sand dunes and bushes.
“What, do you need a toilet??” they are always asking me synchronic. No, I don´t!
At least, it got warmer at night. And every morning we have amazing sunrises, waking us up.
Snorkeling with Giants - Whalesharks and Manta Ray´s
This gently giant can grow up to 18 m in length and is the biggest shark. But he only is feeding krill.
To find him they are using small airplanes and as soon they found one, they get in contact with the boat which is full of excited people, dressed with snorkels and fins, ready to jump in the water to snorkel with him while he is on the surface. We were lucky and had a few times with a huge whale shark who was gently passing us before he slowly disappeared in the deeps of the ocean.
It´s incredible, you are not realising that this is actually a fish. So close to you, Amazing.
