Shark Bay Marine Park , Western Australia

After defrosting and having a quick breakfast we continued our trip to Shark Bay Marine Park.

It sounds close but it’s a couple of hundred of km to drive.

Everything here seems far away, and it truly is.

Our first destination was the Hamelin Pool which is full of living marine stromatolites . Sounds interesting but looks more like a shallow pool full of very tiny volcano’s bubbling around. They already exist for millions of years.

The north we came, the more companions we had.

Flies. Everywhere. Millions.

Especially the shark bay area is crowded by them. With one slapping hand u can kill 30 of them at once.

It was funny to hear Antony swearing around, and constantly waving them away but with every word you swallow more and more of them.

They really are annoying and try to crawl in every hole on your body. They prefer eyes.

Francois Peron National Park

We drove further north in a national park which is full of high red soft sand and some bushes till we finally came to a nice place on the ocean. The beach has so many colours and with the red sand it looks amazing.

It was a lonely place, just us, and millions of flies.

And a fisherman. He offered us fresh fish of his catch. We fried it and had a very tasty meal. We nearly have a whole kitchen with us. Antony has got everything we need in his car. Even an egg boiler. This is great. I love eggs.

When the sun goes down, the flies are going with her.

But if the moon comes up, it brings new companions for the night. Moths. Everywhere. And they prefer lights.

Monkey Mia

This is a very touristy place and they all are waiting for one thing. Dolphins. And they came.

They are not kept in a net or something, they come whenever they wanna come and especially when they are hungry.

We watched them for a while but the desire for a shower was bigger so we went to the caravan park and finally had a shower.
