Koh Tao, Thailand

After 2 days of partying and hanging around on the beach I made my way to Koh Tao – the diving Island. Finally.

Arriving on the harbour u already can see the beautiful water and millions of coconut trees on the island, with hidden huts in between. I ended up in the south of the island, in a small diving school with free accommodation.

the following 4 days changed my life.

I did my Open Water Diver and was INFECTED.

Its like being addictive. The world down there is so different, u forget everything around you and even the smallest new thing makes me happy and curious for more.

Fantastic creatures and the botanical underwater garden is full of beautiful coloured coral.

So I dived nearly every day and my first night dive was first a bit scary but when u come up to the surface and see the wonderful sky full with million of stars .. you feel electric. That was amazing.

Our captain was to drunk to drive our boat back so we docked in the harbour and put all the gear and people on one jeep who drove us back to the hotel.

To relax we always met in our favourite Easy Bar where u chill the night away with a couple of good drinks, people and fire shows of the awesome Burmese barman yaoh and co..

I hired a motorbike ( 225 MZ ! ) , u don’t need anything , no licence or helmet, nothing, and drove around the island which is not easy cause there is just one asphalt street. But hey, its me, I love motocross and took the off-road streets to discover lonely beaches and bays.

In one street, I ended up on a really steep road on the way up and as my back wheel was spinning and spinning on one point , it finally fell on me and burned my shinbone from the pipe. Wearing just a bikini and a skirt wasn´t really helpful in this moment. But I stood up and worked hard that I finally got stucked in the road with my back wheel in the sand. It was standing on its own, but I couldn’t do anything more alone.

I was fucked.

So I searched for help in this lonely area and found 1 men who helped me to get this bike out of this fuckin hole and I drove away with top speed and yelling thank you…

The rest of the days I spent on beaches and snorkelling tours around the island with a small boat from a German guy who lives here since 20 years. He is a cool and funny guy and if u want a smaller boat and more fun, ask for Ronald in the Chalok Baan Kao Bay

I had a great time on Koh Tao and Koh Phangan and decided that I will come back to travel the whole of south-east-Asia after Australia. It´s definitely worth it.

But for now, I have to leave the land of the smile to go back to work in Sydney and safe up more money for travelling.
