Great Barrier Reef, Queensland
Cairns, White Water Rafting
We took the plunge on a boat, full of screaming Japanese and had lots of fun in and on the Barron River.
Great Barrier Reef, Cairns.
It´s the largest reef in the world, with 900 islands it stretches along the Eastcoast of Australia – the Great Barrier Reef.
It´s so huge that we took a 3 day diving tour in the outer Reef.
3 Hours of huge waves and full stomachs wasn’t a good combination at all, I don’t know what distance was bigger, the one between my feet and the ground or the food in my stomach and my teeth.
These days are summarised in 3 words: dive, eat, sleep.
It was amazing to be on the water for such a long time and we saw amazing things, but it was not like that what I expected.
The reason is simple; they bring the entire tourist to the same places.
They get destroyed very fast. The really good places are protected or u have to pay a lot of money to dive there.
Our dives where still amazing, we had lots of strong currents, no leader, no sense of direction but lots of fun.
Milln Reef, Flint Reef - Outer Reef
After 3 days and 11 dives we returned totally exhausted back to the mainland. For 2 more days it felt like walking on the ocean.
