Queensland, Australia

It feels like endless weeks of working in the vet hospital and in a private clinic for people with depressions and drug problems, Doing night shifts nearly 6 nights a week doesn’t makes it easier but the end is near !

Anja and me planned to travel the Eastcoast of Australia and I cant wait to go.

April 2006

One last night out in Bondi before we entered the plane to Cairns, which is in the northern top of the tropical part of Queensland.

We picked up our Jeep and made our way up further north, past evergreen fields and woods we followed the street along the shore.

Unfortunately its rain season and we had to cover our ragtop quickly when the rain started.

The first stop was Port Douglas, a little sleepy town with the famous 4 mile beach which is turquoise blue in dry season but we just found a rough sea with dark grey colour and lots of small but deadly jelly fishes.

So we stayed out of the water and camped on the beach.

Our really small jeep is also our sleeping place, not very comfortable but fun and cheep.

We had a wonderful view by sunrise, while having breakfast on the beach and listening to the waves.
