Bazmark Film Work, “Australia” , Kununurra, August 2007

During my stay in Kununurra I met people who are working for Baz Luhrmann. I couln´t belive it, I am a fan of Baz and didn´t know that!
It needed one day and I was working for him too. They told me for one week first, but I ended up working nearly 3 month for Bazmark.
And this time, was the best ever. I worked on places you would never reach, so unique and special that I am speechless. The people I worked with were absolutely great and kind.
A fantastic team.
This time will be unforgettable, all my life. Thank you Baz !!

Homestead Set Location, Carlton Hill

Every morning we drove one hour through the wilderness , full of big strange boab trees, silent hills, screaming cockatoos, lonely cows, jumping kangaroo family’s and many more unnamed animals. Punctually to the sunrise we arrived at our Unit Base, directly on the Ord River which is full of big saltwater croc´s.
The sunrises were fantastic, every morning. Just incredible.

Working as an assistant for my film set builder boys was lots of fun, and hard work. Every week the temperatures got higher and higher. We spend the whole day outside, finishing the “Faraway Downs “Location with its houses and cattle yards. The team was awesome and they kept me longer with them ( cause of my good work I guess :) )

After they finished shooting on this location, we had to change the whole area into an old and dirty house.

During working they chased 180 horses along the house, just a few meters away from us. The whole earth was shivering and the cowboys were piping and cracking the whips. Goosebumps.
