She was very exhausted but we picked up our jeep and made the way to the Kakadu National Park, the biggest in Australia.
Katrin had to fight with her jetlag and the high humidity with temperatures about 35° C. The park is full of inviting billabongs and waterfall but nearly nowhere you can swim in because of the presence of saltwater crocodiles.

Yellow Water Cruise, Cooinda, Kakadu
With an amazingly flora and fauna ( over 300 different birds ) this area is incredible. It´s end of the dry season so the next month lot´s of heavy rain will come ( 800 L / m 2 ) and everything will be flooded. We were lucky and saw hundrets of birds ( really ! ), massive crocs and water buffalos. Absolutely beautiful.
Twin Falls, Kakadu
A beautiful place, you only can reach by 4 WHD track ( lots of fun ) and a boat.
Jim Jim Falls, Kakadu
Hardly no pool where you can cool of. Except the Jim Jim falls. On the way to this spectacular place we saved to guys who where stucked in deep sand – men. ;)
We pulled them out with our fat lady jeep and made fun of them.
HA HA ;)
The way to the waterfall was amazing and exhausting. Climbing over big stones in such a heat, … puh. But when you get to the end you will be speechless. A massive 200 m rock wall and in between you have the big inviting pool with the cooling water.
That’s a moment where you “thank god” …
We met the guys again, totally dehydrated. They got lost on the way and only had one liter of water with them! Unbelievable, these two guys were doctors and we had to save them again! :)
They invited us for dinner ( the barramundi is so tasty ! ) and we watched the first big thunderstorm of the rain season coming. It was far away but the lightning’s spread over kilometres, nearly every second. I was soo brave. :)
While the first rain drops, everybody was dancing and celebrating this moment.
We stayed for free, again, used power and shower without getting kicked out of the camping ground. As bold as brass, like every time. :)
