Franz Josef Glacier, Westland National Park
12 km long, it stretches close to the shore and is one of a few glaciers which is still growing. We walked ( behind the fence ;) ) right to the englacial stream and glacier snout till we got chased away. But we touched him!
It was to expensive for us to climb it and it takes such a long time to get into the glacier.
Fox Glacier, South Island
Fed by four alpine glaciers, Fox Glacier falls 2,600m on its 13km journey from the Southern Alps down to the coast. Very beautiful but never thought that they would be so dirty on the front.
